Barbara
Gordon
Barbara has been teaching
yoga for over 30 years. Born in Scotland, she started
her yoga studies in London, and from there went to
The Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin Canada, and studied
with Swami Vishnudevananda in the Sivananda style of
teaching yoga. Sivananda is a soft gentle style
of yoga with emphasis on breathing and relaxation.
Barbara then returned to London and set up the Sivananda
Centre. Since then, Barbara has taught over a quarter
of a million people yoga over the years and trained
many of London's now leading teachers. She
teaches yoga and run courses all over the world and
certified over 150 yoga teachers.
All Yoga Teachers Training Courses run by Barbara
Gordon and Sunra Yoga are accredited by the Yoga
Alliance, The accreditation, which is recognised
internationally.
Sunra Yoga
In 1990 Barbara opened
the Sunra Yoga & Holistic Health Centre in South
London, specialising in many styles of yoga
and alternative medicine. She ran the centre and
also worked there as a yoga teacher, counselor and
masseuse.
In 1996 she sold the business to realise her dream
of living and working in the sun. Barbara currently
lives and works in the Sinai and India during winter,
and London and Ibiza during summer.

Farrell lives and works in teaching Yoga
and diving in Dahab on the Red Sea Coast.
Monica's encouragement, patience and care
are traits which our visitors comment on
time after time.
Since pioneering Yoga Diving in 2002, Monica
has spent her time between teaching the
Yoga Diving and Yoga Courses, assisting
with Sunra Yoga Teachers Training Courses
and promoting the benefits of Yoga and
Diving throughout the world.
Nora Belton
Yoga Teacher, Practitioner of Reiki,
Massage, Cranial Sacrotherapy
& Reflexology, Singer, Dancer and
Song Writer
Nora assists
on most Sunra Yoga Teacher's Training
Courses, focusing on the asanas with
Barbara as well as chanting and yoga
philosophy. Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of
devotion is an important part of yoga
practice and we encourage people to get
into it, but it is not imperative. With
her angelic voice Nora helps people to
find their own voice.
SWAMI SARADANANDA
Yoga Teacher
Swami
Saradananda has taught yoga for
30 years, trained yoga teachers
and led advanced training programme's
worldwide. A senior, direct-disciple
of Swami Vishnu-devananda, she
is the author of a number of books,
including Yoga Mind and Body. For
twenty years she edited the International
Yoga Life magazine. After
returning from an extended period
of personal practice in the Himalayas,
Swami Saradananda is now based
in London. She teaches advanced
training courses and workshops
worldwide - and leads frequent
pilgrimages to India.
DR. PRABHAKAR
Doctor of Philosophy : Yoga Teacher
Born and raised
in Hyderabad, India in 1956, Dr. Prabhakar
has been practicing Yoga for nearly 25 years
and has trained thousands of people in India
and abroad. He has given up the lucrative profession
of law and has adopted Yoga as his life's mission.
He has been enjoying teaching Yoga through
his specially flexible way of Yoga called
"Dr. Prabhakar's Ashrama Yoga Sadhana".
He has been disseminating the knowledge of
Yoga to whoever believes that one can gain
Health, Happiness and Peace of Mind at anytime,
as it is never late, irrespective of one's
age or health condition.
ALI GILLING
Yoga Teacher
Ali Gilling
began studying yoga in India in 1990. She
has since qualified as a sivananda teacher
and has subsequently studied various methods
of meditation. She has been teaching regular
classes for the past 7 years in Oxford
and on holidays abroad.
Her passion for dance has found her studying
and enjoying Egyptian dance and 5 Rhythms
dance.
MANUEL PONCE
Registered Osteopath Cranial Osteopath
: Yoga Teacher
Manuel teaches Anatomy and Physiology
on various Sunra Yoga Teacher's Training
Courses. As a yoga teacher he has a
wealth of knowledge of how the body
works and is affected by asanas. As
always he emphasizes safety methods
in teaching asanas and looking at how
all this is applied to the body whilst
practicing asanas.
DAVID OLTON
Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Yoga Teacher
David trained at the Stella Mann School of Dance(ballet), the Laban Centre(contemporary dance) and received his yoga teacher training with the International Yoga School (A.I.Y.S). He also studied ashtanga yoga under Derek Ireland and Godfrey Devereux in the early 1990's.
His work as a dancer has covered every spectrum including Arlene Phillips' Hot Gossip, West End Musicals including Cats, Fame, Fosse (original London cast), Bombay Dreams (original London cast), Barry Manilow's Copacabana (original London cast), A Chorus Line, Oh What A Night, Boogie Nights etc. His numerous television appearances include a master yoga feature on channel 4's The Big Breakfast, GMTV, Royal Variety Performance, Top of the Pops, Blue Peter, Ant 'n Dec's Takeaway etc. He has also appeared in many pop videos, commercials (including Martini) and film.
David also works for Ministry of Sound and teaches Chillates (he is only one of two instructors in the world that Ministry have selected to teach Chillates) and the world famous Pump it Up dance aerobics.
